Drunk driving charges laid after man fails to leave parking lot

A 20-year-old Brandon man faces drunk driving charges after he allegedly hit a couple of trees and a light standard this weekend.

A 20-year-old Brandon man faces drunk driving charges after he allegedly hit a couple of trees and a light standard over the weekend.

Police said the man was trying to leave a parking lot on Victoria Avenue at about 12:45 a.m. Sunday.

He jumped a curb, hit a tree, went over the median, hit another tree and finally came to a stop when he hit a light standard.

Police said the driver was arrested and released on a promise to appear in court.
