Driver who died in crash wasn’t wearing seatbelt, RCMP say
1 dead, 2 injured in Monday collision on Highway 59 collision
RCMP said a man who died in a two-vehicle collision Monday north of Winnipeg was not wearing a seatbelt.
The 42-year-old Libau resident was travelling westbound in a pickup truck when he and a 34-year-old female passenger were struck on the front right passenger side crossing Highway 59.
The driver of the westbound vehicle was pronounced deceased at the scene, while his female passenger and the 30-year-old male Winnipeg driver of the southbound truck were taken to hospital.
Both survivors are now in stable condition.
The name of the deceased will not be released.
