One person has died in a three-vehicle collision near Inkster and Brookside Boulevard in the northwest corner of Winnipeg this afternoon.
The crash happened at around 2:30 p.m. Wednesday eastbound on Inkster, just west of Brookside.
According to RCMP, it appears a car was being driven erratically as it was heading westbound on Inkster and it collided with an eastbound pickup truck that was stopped at the traffic light at Inkster and Roy Roche Drive.
The impact from that collision pushed the truck into another pickup truck that had stopped in traffic.
The driver of the car was pronounced dead at the scene, according to RCMP. The person's name was not released.
The others involved in the collision had minor injuries and were treated at the scene, they added.
Investigators have not ruled out a medical emergency as a contributing factor in the crash.
Emergency crews remained in the area throughout the afternoon rush hour, causing traffic delays.
Both RCMP and Winnipeg police have asked motorists to avoid the area or expect delays.
Inkster Boulevard between Brookside and Sturgeon Road is closed to both east and westbound traffic, according to police.
