Two people have been charged after a 31-year-old man was assaulted in his own van early Sunday morning.

Winnipeg police said the man picked up four people near Selkirk Avenue and McGregor Street around 3 a.m.

Once inside, police said the man was attacked and stabbed in the upper body.

He and his friend managed to get out, and the suspects drove off in the vehicle.

The man was critically injured but has been upgraded to stable.

A 23-year-old man and 22-year-old woman face a list of charges.

Police are still looking for the other two suspects.
