farmers markets

The forecast for southern Manitoba this long weekend is gorgeous - for a change! (CBC )

Don't let the rain dampen your spirits.

There is lots of sun in the forecast this long weekend.

CBC meteorologist John Sauder says once the sky clears, we'll see highs in the mid 20s.

And there's lots going on to get you outdoors and keep you there, whether it's in the city or out and about in Manitoba.

Gimli hosts the 125th anniversary of its famed Icelandic Festival, St. Laurent shows off its roots with Metis Days, which includes the requisite fiddling and jigging.

Or, here in Winnipeg, take in the Eid Festival at Waverley Grand Mosque to mark the end of Ramadan.

Lots of farmers' markets are open today, too.

On Sunday, Folklorama kicks off, for the 45th year.

And on Monday, take time for Manitoba's role in commemorating the First World War with a ceremony at the Forks at 11 a.m.
