Deer rush into morning traffic in Winnipeg

Wayward deer slowed traffic on some Winnipeg roads Wednesday morning.

Wayward deer slowed traffic on some Winnipeg roads Wednesday morning.

A car and deer collided at about 8 a.m. near St.Mary's Road and Marion Street. Then 15 minutes later, a deer hit a city transit bus on south Osborne Street at Morley Avenue.

Police say no one was hurt in either incident, just some delays during the morning rush hour.

Steve Lambert, the Canadian Press reporter in Winnipeg, was on the Osborne bus when the collision occurred.

He Tweeted that the deer hit the bus's front bumper as the vehicle was stopped. It then ran into traffic and collided with another car before running off.

There's no word on what happened to the deer on St. Mary's Road.
