Dauphin man dies in Good Friday highway crash
A 55-year-old man has died in a head-on crash between two pickup trucks on a road outside the city on Good Friday, according to RCMP.
The two trucks crashed on Municipal Road 151, about eight kilometres north of Dauphin, at around midnight Friday.
Emergency crews arrived at the scene to find one of the trucks in the north ditch and the other in the south ditch.
The 55-year-old man, who was driving one of the trucks, was pronounced dead at the scene, police said in a news release on Tuesday.
RCMP did not release the man's name, but said he was from Dauphin.
A 25-year-old Dauphin-area man who was driving the other truck was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Alcohol is being considered a factor in the crash, along with the fact that a seatbelt wasn't used. RCMP did not specify how alcohol may have played a role.
