Woman faces charges following robbery that left clerk injured
A 38-year-old woman is facing charges after a gas-station clerk was injured in a violent armed robbery in Winnipeg Monday morning.
Just before 7 a.m. Winnipeg police went to a gas bar in the Inkster Industrial Park, to find an injured employee and two customers holding a suspect.
Police said a woman armed with a knife went into the business in the 1400 block of Inkster Boulevard and threatened the clerk who was working.
There was a physical confrontation and the clerk was injured, according to police.
Two customers intervened and managed to disarm the woman and hold her until officers arrived.
Now, a 38-year-old woman is facing multiple charges including robbery with a weapon.
Police said the woman was also wanted on two outstanding warrants.
She remains in police custody.
