Manitoba's entertainment industry is in mourning after the death of Kevin Walters.

Walters, one of Manitoba's biggest cheerleaders for local musicians, filmmakers and cultural events, died after a battle with cancer.

The manager of Manitoba Music and Sound, Walters helped bring the Juno Awards to Winnipeg as well as many other events.

He was also the executive director of Manitoba Homecoming 2010, the year-long celebration marking the province's 140th birthday, and the project manager for the annual Culture Days Manitoba.

And he provided management services for the Winnipeg BBQ & Blues Festival, Red River Exhibition, Morden Corn and Apple Festival, and Live Nation Canada.

As news of his death came out, people took to Twitter to express their grief.
