RCMP are asking for the public’s help solving a Cross Lake homicide.

Investigators asked anyone with information about the murder of 19-year-old Austin Troy Monias to come forward Thursday.

Monias was killed on Jan. 20 at about 6 a.m. after a house party on Mission Point in Cross Lake, according to RCMP.

The teen was found with life-threatening injuries and later died at a local nursing station.

Four people were initially taken into custody following the party, but all were later released without being charged.

RCMP confirmed the identity of Monias Thursday and renewed a call for tips in the case.

Monias is the nephew of Idle No More hunger-striker Raymond Robinson.

Robinson was on a hunger strike when his nephew was killed and has since concluded it.

He said the teen was a very active organizer of Idle No More events, and he was shocked to hear of his death.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Cross Lake RCMP at 204-676-2345.

RCMP continue to investigate.
