Crews battle house fire in Winnipeg's Fort Garry area

Crews are fighting a house fire in Winnipeg's Fort Garry neighbourhood right now.

Crews battled a fire and frigid temperatures in Winnipeg's Fort Garry neighbourhood on Monday morning.

They were called to the 1300 block of Edderton Bay at about 5:30 a.m.

The fire started in the garage and spread to the home, according to fire officials.

Two people were treated by firefighters at the scene.

Hoses and other equipment were coated in ice by the time the fire was put out by 8 a.m.

Damage is estimated at $400,000.

The cause has not yet been determined.
