Two CN Rail employees were taken to the hospital following a collision between a slow-moving train and a van at Winnipeg's Symington Yards this morning.
A CN spokesperson told CBC News that a locomotive travelling at a "slow speed" struck a van at around 7:15 a.m. Sunday at the Symington Railway Yard in Transcona.
The van was carrying eight employees. The driver and one passenger were taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to the spokesperson.
The company says the collision had a "minimal" impact on its operations, as it happened at a yard line and not a main line.
The crash is under investigation.
The spokesperson said there's no information yet on whether the van was stopped when it was hit.
