Assiniboine Park Zoo welcomed more than 100 children into its gates Wednesday for a VIP tour of the new Journey to Churchill Exhibit.

The free tour for sick children and those in need kicked off at 5:30 p.m. with a greeting from the zoo’s mascot, Winston the polar bear.

Then the children got a guided tour from zookeepers and had a special meal.

The event, dubbed Wildest Dreams, was put together by Assiniboine Park Conservancy, the CancerCare Manitoba  Foundation, The Salvation Army, the St. Amant Foundation, MaryMound and The Dream Factory
