Missing Manitoba toddler found, RCMP say
Mounties had issued Canada-wide warrant for mom
A missing 18-month-old girl who was allegedly taken by her mother from Selkirk, Man., has been found.
Manitoba RCMP said Friday morning the toddler has been located and is safe.
Mounties had issued a Canada-wide warrant for the toddler's mother and sent out a public plea on Thursday to help find the little girl.
The girl's mother missed a scheduled visit with the child's father, police said, and they believed the mother might have left Manitoba with the girl to go to B.C. — something police said the mom didn't have authority to do.
Both the toddler and the mother were safely located, police said. Their names have been removed from this story to protect the child's privacy.
There's no word yet if charges will be laid.
