It's been 50 years since Winnipeg got absolutely walloped with snow when a blizzard blew through on March 4, 1966.

There's no sound in our decades-old footage, but the visuals show Winnipeggers shoveling their way out of their homes and walking backwards like frozen zombies through blistering winds.

It paints an accurate picture of what it was like in the city at the time.
