No one was injured when a car drove into a house on McDermot Avenue on Wednesday evening, according to Winnipeg police.

Arlington was closed between McDermot and Notre Dame avenues for several hours due to a motor vehicle collision, which was reported at around 6:30 p.m.

Fire crews were seen on the 800 block of McDermot, where a car appears to have crashed into the side of a house.

Some homes were evacuated as a precaution, but police say the affected residents have since been allowed to return.

The area fully reopened to traffic by 9 p.m.
