A man was rushed to hospital after a car crashed into a house in Winnipeg.
It happened just before 9 a.m. on Kirby Drive, in the city's St. James area.
The man, who is listed in unstable condition, was the only person in the vehicle.
A man named Joel, who lives in the area, was outside his house when he heard the crash.
"I heard a speeding car, followed by a screech and a loud, loud thud," he said.
He ran over and was the first person on the scene. He said the man inside, in his mid-30s, was in shock and Joel tried to calm him down.
"I stayed with him and let him know the ambulance was coming, you know," Joel said. "Then his wife came out [from a nearby house] and she kind of took over from there."
Joel said the couple lives across the street from the crash scene.
