Brandon woman recovering after shot with stolen police gun
A 19-year-old Brandon woman is fine, despite being shot in the backside early Thursday morning by someone firing a stolen police gun.
Brandon police said she was treated and released after an "alleged accidental discharge" from a .22 caliber revolver that had been inside a stolen police vehicle on Jan. 12.
The RM of Whitehead Police vehicle was recovered that day, but the gun was not in it.
A 29-year-old Brandon man has been arrested and has been charged with a number of weapons offences.
