Spring is barely upon us but Brandon is already preparing for mosquitoes.

Some people in the western Manitoba town complained last year that fogging crews didn't get out soon enough.

That's because fogging had to first be approved by council.

That changed Tuesday night.

City council took one layer of bueaucracy out of fogging by setting criteria that, when met, will allow city officials to begin fogging without first waiting for permission.

The city is also stepping up their larviciding program to kill more mosquitoes before they hatch.
