Police in Brandon, Man., have seized numerous properties and vehicles in connection with one of the largest police investigations in the city.

City police, along with RCMP and Manitoba Justice's Criminal Property and Forfeiture Unit, seized five properties and 20 vehicles as well as a number of bank accounts on Wednesday.

The property seizures are connected to the arrests of seven people in October, following the discovery of more than $2 million worth of marijuana, cocaine and ecstasy in properties in Brandon, Dauphin and Gilbert Plains. Guns and money were also found.

"The suspects from the Brandon area have been known to be in the drug industry for a long time and are known to us to be organized in the drug world," Const. Kirby Sararas of the Brandon Police Service told CBC News.

Six people face charges, while one person was released.
