Brandon hula hoop star aims for Disney dream
Christina Munchinsky, the hula-hooping ace who wowed TV's Ellen last month, is now setting her sights on a Disney career.
The gregarious 17-year-old girl from Brandon, Man., won a talent competition on The Ellen DeGeneres Show by keeping 73 hoops going at once.
That scored her a $10,000 trip for two to the Island of St. Croix as a prize.
Since that performance, Munchinsky has had several offers to perform and is looking to do more gigs at schools, fairs, corporate events and parties.
But she said her big dream is to work for Walt Disney World, performing on cruises and for crowds.
Munchinsky, who has been hula-hooping since she was five, was in Winnipeg on Wednesday. She put on a show at the Tim Hortons location on Waverley Street as part of Camp Day.
Tim Horton's holds the annual event to raise funds for its children’s foundation. Money is then used to send economically-disadvantaged kids to summer camp.
