Boys charged with break-in spree in Winnipeg
Two teen boys have been charged in connection to a spate of break-ins at home in Winnipeg's Wolseley neighbourhood.
According to police, the boys, aged 13 and 15, broke into a home in the 1300 block of Wolseley Avenue at about 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
They cut the screen to a window of the home and attempted to open it but were unsuccessful. They then broke into a secured utility shed and caused damage but didn't take anything.
At about 4 p.m., they broke into a home in the 400 block of Sprague Street, ransacking it and stealing electronics and alcohol, police said.
Then at 4:25 p.m., the boys broke into a home in the 500 block of Basswood Place, setting off the alarm and running off empty-handed.
About an hour later, they targeted a home in the 500 block of Dominion Street but were seen trying to get in and police were called.
They were arrested and charged with several counts of break-and-enter as well as failure to comply with a previous sentence.
They are in custody at the Manitoba Youth Centre.
