Boy, 17, charged after high-speed police chase
A 17-year-old boy is facing several charges after a high-speed police chase late Saturday night.
Patroling officers saw a black Dodge Avenger speeding through a stop sign on Jarvis Avenue near King Street at about 11:45 p.m.
Police tried to stop the vehicle, but the driver continued at a high rate of speed on King Street near Dufferin Avenue where it blew several other stop lights.
Air One was called out as well as a police dog to help with the chase.
The vehicle eventually stopped and the people inside ran away in the area of the 300 block of Polson Avenue.
Police found the 17-year-old suspect a short time later. He is facing several charges including dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and disobeying a traffic control device.
