Booze-fuelled crime spree ends with arrests of 2 teens
Two males, 17 and 18, have been arrested and are facing robbery charges stretching back to thefts at Winnipeg liquor marts starting last spring.
Police list robberies at no fewer than 16 locations, one in April and September each, five in December, and nine in January.
Some of the liquor marts were hit three or four times.
Constable Eric Hofley said they seemed focused on getting hard liquor to drink themselves, judging from the quantities stolen.
"Individual bottles. Certainly not grabbing a case at a time or anything at a time or anything like that. Depending on the occasion, one, two perhaps three max at a time," he said.
The suspects are being held in custody.
