Bombers punt kicker, sign new quarterback, receiver

The Winnipeg Blue Bombers have signed two new players. Receiver Aaron Kelly and quarterback Jason Boltus have been added to the practice roster.

Club also adds new board member

Justin Palardy's kicking days with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers are over.

The team announced Tuesday it has released the player, who joined the team midway through the 2010 season.

He connected on 114 of 139 field goals over the course of his four-year career.

A new quarterback is also in town.

Jason Boltus spent three seasons with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats from 2009-2011.

He last suited up for the Utah Blaze of the Arena Football League.

The team has also added receiver Aaron Kelly to the practice roster, who also played for Hamilton.

The Bombers also announced an addition to the boardroom.

Marnie Strath, a former Winnipeg Free Press marketing executive, is the 13th board member for the club, who was chosen from among 60 applications in a public nomination process.

Board chair Brock Bulbuck said in a news release that her experience in event management and marketing will provide the board with fresh insight.

The changes come after a number of shake-ups the team is making in an effort to improve its performance.
