Blue Bombers down 14-13 at half time in 1st pre-season game
Winnipeg Blue Bombers take field against Toronto Argonauts in first preseason game
The Winnipeg Blue Bombers trailed the Toronto Argonauts 14-13 at half time in their first pre-season game of 2014 on Monday night.
The game kicked off at 7:30 p.m. at Investors Group Field stadium.
Long-time fan Zach Zabisewski said he was anxious to see what the team’s got this season after watching them during the off-season.
He said he hoped the energy from the Bombers’ fan expo carried into Monday night’s game.
“I love it. I mean, that’s why we’ve been going for 14 years,” he said. “For me, there’s nothing like being there with the other 30,000 fans.”
Zabisewksi said he’s looking forward to seeing new players fight for their positions this season.
"They made a lot of changes in the off season that I'm excited about," he said. "Obviously Drew Willie is a bit of an unknown for the group. I know I'm a little uneasy still at this point, but it's a nice chance to see some guys that are vying for jobs out there."
The team is coming off a disappointing 3-15 record in the 2013 season and a rocky 2012 season, giving them a 9-27 record for the past two years.
