A 33-year-old woman from Bissett, Man., has died after the off-road vehicle she was a passenger on flipped over earlier this week.

RCMP say they were called to the crash in Bissett just after 10 p.m. on Tuesday.

Investigators determined that two women were riding on the quad when they collided with a stack of railway ties, flipping the vehicle over.

The 33-year-old passenger was taken to hospital, where she died of her injuries, RCMP stated in a release Thursday. Her name was not released.

The driver, also a 33-year-old woman from Bissett, suffered minor injuries.

Neither woman was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, according to police. The incident is under investigation.

The community of Bissett is about 230 kilometres by road northeast of Winnipeg.
