A long-awaited look into real estate transactions done by the City of Winnipeg will be released at a council meeting in June.

City councillors received notice from the city's auditor Thursday about the report.

The document is described as lengthy and will be reviewed by the public service before it's finalized.

An audit of the city's real estate transactions was ordered by councillors in September 2012 after revelations of a controversial land swap deal involving fire halls.

Councillors demanded the audit to restore public confidence in how the city conducts some business transactions.
