Attempted murder charges laid in downtown Winnipeg shooting
A 19-year-old man is charged with attempted murder and several other firearms-related offences in connection to a shooting in downtown Winnipeg.
It happened just after 1 a.m. Thursday near a parking lot at Graham Avenue and Carlton Street.
Police were called about a fight and while on scene, officers heard the sound of gunshots.
The 19-year-old suspect was immediately taken into custody.
A 20-year-old man, who was shot, was taken by friends to the hospital in critical condition. He was later upgraded to stable condition.
The investigation is continuing by members of the police service's Major Crimes Unit.
