Three masked men armed with rifles stormed into a First Nation VLT gaming centre in western Manitoba Tuesday morning.

It happened just after 1 a.m. on the Canupawakpa Dakota First Nation near Pipestone, southwest of Brandon.

Canupawakpa Chief Frank Brown said his nephew was there at the time, along with two other community members and three staff.

Brown was told one shot was fired by the masked intruders but no one was hit.

It is estimated the men got away with $7,000 to $10,000.

The gaming centre has 20 machines and brings in roughly $1 million annually for the community, Brown said.

Dakota Ojibway Police are investigating the robbery.
