Winnipeg’s Arlington bridge is being shut down for six weeks.

The closure, which is being done for repair work, begins  July 15 at 6 a.m. It will reopen at 6 a.m. on Aug. 31.

The repairs are being done on the 101-year-old bridge's deck overlay, as well as some structural steel repairs and regular maintenance.

The east sidewalk will remain open for pedestrian traffic.

Drivers must use alternate routes such as the McPhillips Street underpass and the Slaw Rebchuk bridge.
