Winnipeg police are investigating after a 25-year-old man was shot in Winnipeg's North End Tuesday night.
Officers found the man at Alfred Avenue and Burrows Street suffering from a gunshot wound to his lower body around 9:30 p.m. He was taken to hospital for what police said were "non-life-threatening injuries."
A witness told CBC News she heard a shotgun blast, then saw a man lying on the ground with what looked like many wounds on his back.
"I went running towards him and I was like, 'Are you OK?' And he started screaming, 'Help me!'" said the witness, who did not want to be identified.
"Then I just kept … trying to talk to him, trying to keep him alive," she added.
Police said the man was hit by shot gun blasts in the back and lower back.
Officers are now looking for two suspects.
