5 people face drug, weapons charges after North End bust
Three boys and two men are facing several drug and weapons-related charges after a bust at a North End house.
Police were called to the 700 block of Alfred Avenue on Sunday evening and when they arrived, a group of people were seen running from the residence. Police chased them and caught four.
Inside the house, another five people were found with several weapons, drugs and cash.
All nine people were arrested while police got a warrant to search the house. From that, they seized the following:
- Ruger .22 calibre sawed-off rifle.
- 4 grams of crack cocaine.
- 2 machetes
- A knife
- Bear spray
- $670.00 in Canadian currency
Four people were released without charges, five others — aged 14, 15, 17, 20, 32 — are facing charges.
Of those five, the 15 and 17 year olds were released from custody with a promise to appear in court at a later date, while the remaining three remain behind bars.
