5 northern youth face second degree murder charges

Five youth from St. Theresa Point First Nation are facing second degree murder charges after the death of a 28-year-old man that was assaulted.

Five youth from St. Theresa Point First Nation are facing second degree murder charges after the death of a 28-year-old man who police say was assaulted. 

RCMP responded to the reserve just after midnight on Thursday where they found the victim lying on a road with serious injuries. 

He was rushed to the local nursing station where he later died. 

Police arrested five youth suspects between the ages of 15 and 17 years old. 

All five remain in police custody charged with second degree murder in connection with the death. 

The are scheduled to appear in a Winnipeg courtroom on Monday. 

St. Theresa Point is located 610 kilometres northeast of Winnipeg.
