4th arrest made in connection with robbery near Polo Park

Winnipeg Police have arrested a fourth suspect involved in the robbery of three 18-year-olds near Polo Park on July 12.​

Three friends – two 18-year-old women and one 18-year-old man – left the shopping mall and headed for a creek under the railway bridge east of Empress Street and Westway to take photos.

They were confronted, assaulted, robbed of their belongings and held at knifepoint by four men for over an hour before being let go. The 18-year-old man sustained minor injuries.

Three suspects – males aged 16, 17 and 19 – were eventually arrested for their involvement in the incident.

A fourth man, aged 19, was arrested by Winnipeg police Tuesday evening after being spotted downtown by a police cadet.

The fourth suspect remains in custody.
