40-year-old man dies swimming near The Pas, Manitoba RCMP say
Man dove into water when fishing on boat with family in Clearwater Lake Saturday, never surfaced
A 40-year-old man died Saturday after diving into Clearwater Lake northeast of The Pas, Manitoba RCMP said.
Police said the man was fishing with family in a boat on the lake almost a kilometre from shore when he dove into the water to go swimming and never surfaced.
His body was recovered around 7 p.m. and taken to The Pas Health Complex.
Police said alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the incident.
