4 youths back in custody after escape at Agassiz Youth Centre
Justice officals say they briefly took over a power station on facility's grounds
Four residents at the Agassiz Youth Centre in Portage la Prairie barricaded themselves in a power station on the facility's grounds Sunday.
A Manitoba Justice official said it was an area the youths were not permitted to be in.
She also said at no time were the facility's staff at risk.
Manitoba's Emergency Response Team was sent in, and RCMP also responded.
Three of the individuals were taken back into custody shortly after the incident.
CBC reporter Jill Coubrough said a dozen officers with shields emerged from the Youth Centre around 4 p.m.
Then about an hour later, she saw the fourth individual being escorted across the lawn in handcuffs.
She said minutes later, an ambulance raced from Agassiz.
Utilities to the power station were cut while police and corrections officials dealt with the incident.
The province said there have been no injuries reported to staff or residents.
