Four people have been charged after a crime spree in Winnipeg that police say lasted months and involved about 100 pieces of identification being stolen from homes and vehicles.

The stolen ID consisted of passports, driver’s licences, credit and debit cards and cheques that were used to buy things at stores in the city.

The four people — aged 22, 33, 33, and 45 — were arrested Sunday afternoon when police spotted them in a stolen car in the 800 block of Ellice Avenue.

While officers were taking them into custody, the 22 year old ran from the scene. A canine unit was called in and tracked down the man in the 600 block of Burnell Street.

Officers also located and seized quantity of methamphetamine during the arrests of the four people.

All have been charged with numerous offences.
