The major crimes unit responded to the Kennedy Street and Sargent Avenue area around 2:20 a.m. to find three women had been stabbed.

Asumani Kasimu heard arguing around 1 a.m. Friday morning.

"I heard people, they were arguing," said Kasimu. "Women voices were shouting."

Anna Wall said the area has a bad reputation.

"This street alone is just, it's notorious," said Wall. "Every summer it's repetitive drinking problems, drug use, there's like drug paraphernalia everywhere, yelling  there's just so much anger in this area."

A 25-year-old woman was taken to hospital in critical condition but is now stable. The other two victims, aged 30 and 31, are also stable.

At this point police suspect the incident may have happened on the 600 block of Balmoral Street and the victims made their way to different locations in the area.
