2nd woman charged with 2nd degree murder in downtown death
Regina police catch 2nd suspect after Canada-wide warrant issued
A second woman has been arrested in the suspected homicide of 53-year-old Arthur Haussermann at the Holiday Towers last weekend.
Winnipeg police said a 27-year-old woman was arrested in Regina, Sask., on Friday after a Canada-wide warrant was issued.
Members of Winnipeg's Homicide Unit picked her up and returned her to Winnipeg, where she has been charged with
second degree murder and arson with disregard for human life.
Const. Jason Michalyshen said the investigation so far indicates the two suspects got into a fight with the victim.
"The two accused, the two females in this matter were with the victim in his suite," said "And at that time they did get in an altercation, an altercation did occur in that suite."
The second suspect is also accused in an unrelated robbery.
Earlier this week, on Wednesday, police said they had charged a woman with second degree murder in Haussermann's death, as well as arson.
Fire fighters found Haussermann with upper body injuries when they responded to an alarm from the building last Saturday.
He was taken to hospital where he died of his injuries.
Police said both suspects are being held in custody.
