2 women robbed, stabbed in Winnipeg's north end
Police have charged a 24-year-old man and a 17-year-old boy
Two women are recovering after being robbed and stabbed while walking in Winnipeg's north end early Friday morning.
A 49-year-old woman and a 46-year-old woman were walking in the area of Boyd Avenue and Powers Street when they were confronted by a man and teenage boy.
The suspects pushed the women to the ground and both women ended up being stabbed in the altercation, police said.
The 49-year-old was rushed to hospital in critical condition, but has since been upgraded to stable condition. The other women suffered non-life threatening injured.
The suspect fled the scene with some of the women's personal property.
Officers used a police helicopter and police dogs to track the two suspects. They were arrested a short time later.
A 24-year-old man and a 17-year-old boy face several charges including robbery with a weapon, possession of a weapon for dangerous use and disguise with intent.
Both suspects remain in custody.
