2 deaths on Roseau River First Nation unrelated, RCMP say
One man has been charged with second degree murder in connection with one of the deaths
A 30-year-old man has been charged with second degree murder in one of two deaths in Roseau River First Nation south of Winnipeg.
Police said a 23-year-old man, Charles French, was killed and that the suspect and the victim knew each other.
The suspect is to appear in a Winnipeg court Monday.
Police are not releasing any information about a second death on the reserve, however, only that the “death of an adult male is being treated as a homicide."
Police specified that the two deaths were not related.
The family of Charles French is requesting privacy and wish not to be contacted by the media at this time.
