2 charged after 911 caller reports sex assault in progress
Winnipeg police lay charges against two men after serious sexual assault on Powers Street
Winnipeg police have charged two men, one in his teens, with sexual assault after a woman was attacked Sunday morning.
Officers rushed to the 200 block of Powers Street after getting a 911 call about a woman yelling. The caller told the police a serious sexual assault could be in progress.
Police said officers found two suspects at the scene and followed them on foot.
After an investigation by the sex crimes unit and forensic identification unit, a 26-year-old man and a 19-year-old man were charged with sexual assault.
Both men remain in police custody.
