A woman involved in a fatal rollover near Gimli early Sunday morning has died, RCMP said.

The driver, an 18-year-old woman, was travelling westbound on Provincial Road 231 when she crossed the eastbound lane, crashing in the south ditch just after 12 p.m., police said.

Gimli RCMP responded to the scene to find the driver had been ejected from her vehicle. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

It isn’t yet known whether the 18-year-old was wearing a seat belt, but police said alcohol is not believed to have been a factor.
