Ontario's police watchdog has called an investigation after a man was struck by a vehicle near the Strathroy OPP detachment.
A man visited the detachment on Centre Road in Adelaide Metcalfe, east of London, on Sunday at about 11 p.m. After a brief interaction with an officer, he left the detachment.
The man was subsequently struck by a civilian vehicle on Centre Road. He was sent to hospital with serious injuries.
Centre Road was closed in both directions and has since reopened.
Ontario's Special Investigations Unit is now investigating the incident.
