What do you call 8,000 liberal arts professors in one city?

It sounds like a joke in search of a punch-line, but it's also a real event happening in London in two years.

Western University announced Wednesday that it will host the 2020 Congress of the Humanities and Social Sciences, the largest gathering of humanities and social science scholars in the country.

"Congress is a tremendously exciting event each year, drawing talent from a wide array of disciplines from across the country to share and discuss ideas about shaping the Canada of the future," said Gabriel Miller, executive director of the Federation for the Humanities and Social Sciences.

The conference will run from May 30, 2020  to June 5, 2020 and is expected to be the largest conference ever held in London, Ont.

Western University last hosted Congress in 2005.
