Police warn about attempted abduction of boy, 8, in north London
Police say boy was able to escape after being pushed inside red van
London police are warning the public after an attempted abduction of an eight-year-old boy on Thursday in the Stoney Creek neighbourhood of north London.
Police say the boy left his school at 3:30 p.m. and began riding his scooter home.
In the area of Stackhouse Avenue and Devos Drive, a red van pulled into the end of a driveway in the path of the boy.
Police say a male driver exited his vehicle, confronted the boy and pushed the boy and his scooter into the van.
The boy was able to unlock the door and climb out of the van with his scooter and return home.
Police were then contacted about the incident.
Police say the driver was the lone occupant of the van.
He is described as a white male, about 40 years old.
The van is an older model red van with a black interior.
The boy was not hurt and police are continuing to investigate.
