Waterloo woman struck by car while walking on sidewalk dies
Incident took place on April 24
Waterloo Regional Police say a 50-year-old Waterloo woman has died of her injuries after she was hit by a car while walking on a sidewalk on April 24.
Police confirmed the woman died in a Hamilton hospital on Friday. Her name is not being released.
The car that struck the woman was a Toyota being driven by a 27-year-old Waterloo woman. Police say the driver lost control of the car, left the road and went over the curb, striking the 50-year-old woman.
The driver was not injured. Police say speed and alcohol were not factors in the collision but fatigue is being considered.
The 27-year-old driver has been charged with careless driving.
