Stolen driftwood pianist found in Guelph antique store
The driftwood sculpture of a pianist that went missing from the front yard of 68 Royal Orchard Drive in Kitchener was found in a Guelph antique store on Friday, says the sculpture's owner.
Piano teacher Donna Mak reported the life-size sculpture missing on Tuesday, when she returned home from a family funeral to find the pianist - and the bench he was sitting on - were gone.
On Friday, police found the sculpture in a Guelph antique store.
"It's a happy ending," says Mak, adding that all her neighbours have been out to congratulate her on the find.
She says the sculpture is a little broken in places, but nothing that can't be repaired. She's keeping him inside until he's fixed, but hopes to have him back at his driftwood piano as soon as possible.
