Snowstorm heading this way, Environment Canada believes
Environment Canada issued a special weather statement Sunday evening for several areas in Southern Ontario ahead of an expected storm moving into the area Tuesday.
The national weather agency says a potential snowstorm may move in Tuesday midday and remain through Tuesday night.
The weather statement applies to:
- Guelph, Erin and Southern Wellington county
- Kitchener, Cambridge and the Region of Waterloo
- Mount Forest, Arthur and Northern Wellington county
"A low pressure system developing over the southern United States Monday will head towards the Lower Great Lakes and is expected to spread an area of snow into Southern Ontario Tuesday and Tuesday night, " the weather statement said.
Environment Canada stated that "significant snowfall amounts may be possible across portions of Southwestern Ontario, the Golden Horseshoe and Eastern Ontario" and advised that conditions for travel could deteriorate rapidly.
